Welcome one and all to The 2025 9th Annual (kind of) Bruns/Winget International Pumpkin Carving Contest! Yes, the time has come again. The Pumpkin Committee had a slight falter and stumbled last year. Somehow, they ended up in rehab for their candy addictions. It may have been the constant packages received from contestants with treats, presents and bribes of overflowing bags of mini Snickers, Milk Duds, Sweeties and much more. Their blood thickened and their glucose meters broke. Their heads filled with the corn syrup fog that can only accompany the wicked cane obsession. Alas, now they are on the wagon, working the steps, on the pumpkin patch. They are making amends to all they may have harmed, that includes those of you, contestants, that were left astray last October. Now sober, we again are able to come together which couldn’t be more important in this tumultuous time. In this harrowing state of current events, Left versus Right, finger pointing, war, confusion and melancholy, The 2025 9th Annual Bruns/Winget International Pumpkin Carving Contest unifies us as humans on planet earth, not as Boomers or Millennials, Pineapple on pizza or no pineapple on pizza. We are one humanity, carving and creating, bringing light and laughter to all whether you are waiting for the collapse of civilization or the Rapture, let us commune together, stab some gourds and break bread on the Pumpkin Contest beacon of promise of a better future. Or maybe just a better October.

It's time to get your carving tools out and sharpen your wits, your humor and your skills for the highly anticipated, 9th Annual Bruns/Winget International pumpkin carving contest in 2025.

The pumpkin carving committee let me know that this year promises to be even more thrilling than ever before. We challenge you to create the most extraordinary and jaw-dropping designs that will leave everyone in awe. Whether you're a professional carver or just a pumpkin hobbyist, everyone is invited to showcase their talent in this global competition. So get ready to join us for a fun-filled event that celebrates creativity, artistry, and pure pumpkin passion. Let's carve some pumpkins!

If this is your first year, or if the sugar clouded your brain from all the candy last year, this is how it works:

There is a s a set carving time period: 

​Cutting commences Friday, October 24 through Friday, October 31.

You can carve wherever you are and submit pictures of your entries to the FaceBook page, website or app by midnight, October 31. 

Voting period, November 1-3

Voting is done by us all! Everyone gets one vote in each category. 

Feel free to share pictures of your pumpkin picking process, your creative inspiration, your wacky pumpkin carving memes or your eloquent soliloquies of what pumpkin carving means to you. 

Also, everyone is invited!! Kids to Grandparents! Ghouls and Ghoulies!

No experience is necessary. 

Awards for Best Pumpkin, Most Creative, Honorable Mention and Kid’s Best(11 & under)!

​No experience necessary. Fun is mandatory. Snacks and candy is recommended. Donations of candy to the pumpkin committee is inferred.
